Pacer Prasidh Krishna will miss the entire IPL 2023, his Indian Premier League franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR), confirmed on February 17, 2023. Krishna has been out of action since September last year when he was pulled out of the India A squad due to back issues.
He sustained the injury on the eve of India A’s three-match unofficial Test series against New Zealand A and Shardul Thakur replaced him in the squad. He last played for India in the white-ball series against West Indies.

Earlier a BCCI official had told PTI about Krishna’s injury, saying: “Prasidh has a stress fracture and in case of this particular form of injury, you cannot put a date on a prospective comeback. Every player has a different body type and recovery process and time would be different. It could be anything between six months to one year. In case of Prasidh, he is still not fit enough to return to play and it is unfortunate that he missed the entire domestic season.”
Overall, he has played 14 ODIs for the Men In Blue and has bagged 25 wickets at an average of 23.92, an economy of 5.32 and a strike rate of 26.9.
Rajasthan Royals Confirm That They Will Seek A Replacement For Prasidh Krishna For IPL 2023
Krishna has already been out of action for the last six months after suffering a stress fracture to his back, but now reports are filtering in that he might need more time to regain full fitness and is running out of time and matches to do so.
And now his IPL franchise RR confirmed that he will not play in the entire IPL 2023 and that they will aid and assist in his journey to full fitness, but will also seek a replacement player for him.

“We are doing everything possible to support and aid Prasidh’s recovery process from injury, and hope to see him steaming in soon. Our coaching staff has been actively identifying and developing pacers from our trials and preparatory camps, as we work towards a decision on Prasidh’s replacement. Unfortunately, after consulting the medical staff and him, it was decided that he will not be able to take part in IPL 2023,” RR said in a statement on their website.
