Reigning Indian Premier League champions Gujarat Titans have kick-started their preparations for their IPL title defense as the franchise conducted a short camp at their home ground in Ahmedabad.

Titans, who made their IPL entry in a magnificent manner, started their preparations for the upcoming IPL season by conducting a five-day camp, from February 3 to February 7, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Several players of the squad, Vijay Shankar, Rahul Tewatia, B Sai Sudharsan, Shivam Mavi, Pradeep Sangwan, Mohit Sharma and Abhinav Manohar, to name a few, were a part of this camp.

The camp was conducted under the supervision of experienced coaching personnel. Ashish Nehra, the head coach of the Gujarat Titans along with the franchise’s Director of Cricket, Vikram Solanki were present for the short camp.

This camp was ideal to kick start our preparations: Solanki

Solanki spoke about the team’s preparations and the importance of the camp.

“The TATA IPL 2023 is less than two months away and this camp was ideal to kick start our preparations. It was a great opportunity to get some of our players together and spend some valuable time training for the upcoming season,” Solanki told the media.

Hardik Pandya, the current Gujarat Titans captain was a key part of the squad and one of the main reasons behind the franchise winning their maiden IPL title in their debut season. They were able to outclass Rajasthan Royals in the final in Ahmedabad last year and would be hoping to defend their title and become just the third team in IPL history to do so. The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League is set to begin after the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League. The schedule for the IPL hasn’t been announced as of this moment.

Members of the Indian team are currently in Nagpur gearing up for the first Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy which is set to begin on February 9, Thursday. India will host Australia for four Tests followed by three ODIs before starting with the IPL 2023 season.
