Christian Atsu’s death affected me deeply that’s why I’ve not composed a song in his honour – Shatta Wale

Ghanaian reggae-dancehall artist Shatta Wale has revealed why he could not compose a tribute song for late Black Stars winger, Christian Atsu, despite their friendship.
The artist explained that Atsu’s death has left him deeply saddened, which has made it difficult for him to find the right words to create a song that would adequately honor his friend’s memory.
While Shatta Wale acknowledged that his friendship with Atsu was not as close as his friendship with Asamoah Gyan, he expressed his admiration for Atsu’s dedication and hard work.
The artist also criticized the media for not highlighting the good deeds and charitable works that Atsu did while he was alive, but only starting to publicize them after his death.
“I know people have been wondering why I haven’t done a song for Christian Atsu like I have done in the past. But the truth is, I haven’t been able to do it because his passing has affected me deeply, and I find it hard to find the right words to express my feelings,” Shatta Wale said in a social media video.
He continued, “I’ve seen the media suddenly start highlighting all the good deeds and charity work that Christian Atsu did while he was alive. It’s a shame that they only start doing this after his death. It’s unfair to him and his memory.”
